The Queen Mother used to single out my uncle when she visited Hastings so that he could always present her with a red rose. The Royal family here and abroad are members, along with stars of stage and screen. My claim to fame is the little known fact that my great grandfather was one of the founder members of the famous Hastings Winkle Club. Originally from Hastings Sussex where I grew up and matured like fine cheese and vino. My age? Oh shucks just this side of OMG I can’t possibly be that old.
